Fall 2016
Adley is enjoying going to preschool 5 days a week, for 2 hours each day.  She is so excited to go to school each day, where she is making great friends, and loving recess and snack time!
We have a one on one aide with Adley at all times at school to prevent her from getting injured.
Her favorite summer activities included swimming in the pool, which is very fun for her, while the chlorine is drying and cleansing to her skin.
She has recently fallen in love with the Disney Princesses and she had a wonderful time attending princess class once a week for 6 weeks at our local Rec Center over the summer.  Every time I picked her up from class she would reply, "Why isn't this class longer?"
Very soon we will be trying ballet.  Adley loves "Angelina Ballerina," and she really enjoys music and dance.  We are hoping her feet hold up during dancing, and we are worried the ballet leotards and tutus will tear her skin.
This summer negatively affected her skin; the constant humidity made it hard for wounds to heal, and made it easy for new ones to form.
Riding in the car seat continues to be one of the most painful, and uncomfortable parts of her day.  During the blazing hot summer months, I tried to get the car cooled down before bringing her into the car, but once you get your groceries, you have to get back into a sweltering hot vehicle.  Short 5 to 10 minute rides resulted in blisters along her lower back that took from May til August to heal.
In the spring we took a fun weekend trip to WI, we drove about 1 hour and 40 minutes, stopped a few times, and even switched her between two different car seats; and still her butt was badly blistered.  It happened on the way home, she made it there, but to do a long drive two days was just too much for her skin.  She was afraid to sit on the toilet because of the blisters on her bottom.
Adley's resilience amazes us daily.  She is the happiest, friendliest, smartest four year old!
She is endless joy and constant witty comments.

We cannot thank our family and friends enough for supporting us and loving us!
Your daily support keeps us positive, and your generosity is immeasurable beyond words.
With your help the fundraiser Adley and I hosted in May, The Befriend EB Butterfly Bash rose over $10,000 and allowed Befriend EB to help 13 families (every family that applied) get to the DEBRA Care Conference in Texas.
